Nicolas Jackson Leads Chelsea To Beat Brentford As Title Race Tightens Up

Chelsea, with the 2-1 victory against Brentford, have tightened up on their Premier League title quest and have narrowed the deficit to the table summit to two points.

The Blues lost Cucurella to a second yellow card offense in injury time. The defender was involved in scuttle and dispute hence the red card. Meanwhile, at this point had also pulled one back from Mbeumo's effort.

Nino Madueke facilitated the opening goal with a pin-point cross, which Marc Cucurella got a glace header to, beating Mark Flekken to the net. The Blues doubled the lead as Enzo Fernandez slid a through pass for Nicolas Jackson to latch onto and dumbed a defender before smacking the ball into the net.

Although Brentford managed to narrow the lead in the stoppages through Scade releasing a pass down right to Mbeumo for a superb finish of the fast break.

Chelsea are now unbeaten in seven consecutive games in all competitions. They are poised to contend strongly with Liverpool for the title even though they trail in the second position.

Overview

It was Seemingly a commanding victory for Chelsea while Brentford stood no chance of threatening to hold them back until Mbeumo's stoppage-time goal. Fantastic football from the Blues and a great performance from Madueke, who was instrumental to the attacking forward for much of the time.

Performance

Madueke was in his best shape and really was impressive in the game. Palme, likewise, did a great job in the centre but Jackson seemed even more brazen at the front. His winning goal was well taken.
