Manchester United Winless Run Worsens, What Does It Hold For the Club?

Manchester City's winless run continues even at Etihad Stadium where they drew 1-1 against Everton. Erling Haaland wasted their only comeback chance from a penalty drawn from a foul on Savinho in the box. However, how did that unfold?

City had gone ahead before Everton leveled the scoresheet after halftime. It could be said that Jordan Pickford was heroic because Savinho forced a save that could have set City ahead comfortably after they returned from the halftime break. It was not the kind of match that City could ride over; the Blues were up to the task.

Bernardo Silva set the Citizens ahead, nicely finishing off Jeremy Doku's cross from the left wing. Everton later leveled the scoresheet through Ndiaye, who seized Lewis' defending flop for a delightful finish. The moment culminated when the Citizens were pressing deep into Everton's halve. Doucoure's cross facilitated a counter, which Ndiaye took advantage of.

After Haaland wasted the penalty, the Citizens barely could find another goal-scoring chance  Credit to Pickford for the save, that could have quelled Everton's resistance. The Blues had some chances in injury time that they could have made the most of. However, they appeared comfortable with a draw at Etihad nonetheless.

Pep Guardiola and his men have only won one in the last nine games in the Premier League. Their winless run continues to compound City's performance challenges, ripping off their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
