Manchester United Winless Run Persist After Losing To Forest At Old Trafford

Manchester United are struggling to regain their winning form, lost humbly by 3-2 to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in what was their first back-to-back defeat to the visitors in three decades.

The performance of the Red Devils since the start to the season has not been pleasant, and upon replacing their manager with Ruben Amorim, they have conceded a total of six goals in three Premier League games. Their biggest victory since the Portuguese appointment was against Everton by 4-0..

Forest took an early from Nikola Milenkovic's header before Rasmus Holjund leveled the game by finishing off a rebound shot from Alejandro Garnacho. Forest got fired up in the second half and added two more goals to the scoresheet.

Morgan Gibbs-White smacked home the second goal for Forest from the edge of the box and Chris Wood pounced a header home for the third following Gibbs-White's cross. Bruno Fernandez later curled into the net Amad Diallo's through pass as United trailed Forest by a goal deficit.

The defeat sent United dropping to 13th of the table as Amorim conceded his third home defeat of the season and his first at Old Trafford. He has only won a Premier League game in four encounters since his appointment earlier in November.

Overview

United had a difficult game at Old Trafford and having to lose to unfamilair contenders like Forest was like adding salt to injury for the side that is trying to find its footing. Whilst United seemed to be making a comeback, having to replace Fernandez apparently cooled off the side's tenacity to find the equalizer. More so, giving the ball away effectively led to giving Forest a goal following Gibb-White's goal.

Forest were the better side in the game and were able to make most of their set-pieces and pull off the needed goals to stay ahead. The nearest scoring chance that could have restored United back into the game was not rightly taking by Amad, though he later had another attempt at the goal that was blocked. He facilitated the second goal for United and his performance was plausible nonetheless.
