Manchester United Lose First Game Under Ruben Amorim At Arsenal
Manxhester United endured an unpleasant 2-0 defeat on the road to Arsenal, which quickly ended newly-signed manager, Ruben Amorim's unbeaten run as Arsenal took a leap to third place of the Premier League standings.
It took time for Arsenal to break the deadlock but it was not long into the second half when Jurrien Timber pounced a header to beat Andre Onana to the goal following Declan Rice's corner. The second goal came from a similar situation, and this time, it was William Saliba who deflected home Tomas Partey's header following Bukayo Saka's cross.
The loss completed United's fourth consecutive defeat to Arsenal and brought to a halt Amorim's unbeaten run after three games in all competitions. Over the weekend, United recorded their biggest win under Amorim with 4-0 defeat of Everton.
Amorim was appointed to replaced former manager Erik ten Hag. He took over from Ruud van Nistelrooy who headed the team as an interim manager until his appointed. Amorim led his former club, Sporting to win the Primeira Liga last season.
Overview
It was just that game that can go either way for United, and having such game against Arsenal, it can really be demanding. Earlier, it seemed as if the game was going to end in draw but Arsenal came through with set-pieces to break the deadlock.
Getting past United was not easy and the Gunners put a lot of work into the game to claim the maximum points. It was not a devastating defeat for United but that Ruben Amorim unbeaten run has quickly come to a halt after few games.
