10-Man Manchester United Lose Humbly To Wolves

 

Manchester United had a difficult game on the road to Wolverhampton where they lost 2-0 to the hosts following Bruno Fernandez's red card. The loss further worsened the Red Devils' performance under Ruben Amorim. 

Wolves snatched the opening goal from Matheus' cross that floated through to beat Andre Onana. The second goal followed in injury time as Wolves seized a counter to consolidate the victory through Hwang Hee-Chan. Cunha inspired the break and set up the moment for the winning goal with a pass for Hee-Chan to finish. 

The sober performance continues to trail Amorim despite his plausible record with Sporting. Fernandez needlessly bagged a red card for his rough tackle on Somendo, which left the team weak and vulnerable. Fernandez plays a significant role in the attacking line, and to lose him was devastating to the Red Devils. 

That puts pressure on the team as they have lost four out of the last five league games, which extended Amorim's losing run as the club's manager. He is the first manager to lose as many as five out of 10 games as the club manager.  

Overview

For Wolves, they had a game of their expectations and Cunha lived up to what he knows best. Diallo's efforts to break into their defense repeatedly were met with resistance as the United pressed into Wolves' halve. For United committing too many players deep into the Wolves' halve eventually cost them too much. leaving rooms to counter enough for the Wolves to finish off in injury time.
