Manchester City Regain Winning Way Defeating Leicester

Manchester City have regained winning way after they neatly defeated Leicester City by 2-0  in a showdown that witnessed Savinho scoring his first goal for the side.

Leicester were punished for Stolarczyk's poor save, leading to the opening goal followed by another tacky defending that left Erling Haaland unmarked for a header that secured the game for the Citizen. The Foxes put up a fair resistance against their opponents but City were tough for them to hold off.

Phil Foden forced a save from Stolarczyk and Savinho smacked home the rebound from inside the box. The Brazilian's cross later set off Haaland's header beating Stolarczyk to the goal in the second half. The Foxes later scrambled a scoring moment with Mavididi's cross which Vardy missed finishing.

City have now won their second game in the last 10 Premier League games. The game was Pep Guardiola's 500th game and the maximum points earned helped move the side to fifth on the table. The victory further rekindled their top-four hope to qualify for the Champions League if not defend the Premier League title.

Overview

Manchester City deserved the victory against the Foxes, who allowed opportunities to slip past them. Savinho was prominent in the game, likewise, Kevin de Bruyne was involved in the build-up to the winning goal. The Citizens convincingly dominated the game.

Leicester did find succor in Jamie Vardy at the front. He should have converted a couple of goal-scoring moments for the side, especially Stephy Mavididi's cross, which he should have tapped home from close range. The Foxes passed the moments up, leaving City with an opportunity to strike and Haaland had his neat scoring chance.
