Cristiano Ronaldo Reacts To Vinicius Jr. Winning Globe Soccer Award

Vinicius Jr. added the Globe Soccer Award to his individual trophy stack after being named as Men's Player of the Year at the annual ceremony in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Amongst the renowned players who reacted to the award won by the Brazilian forward following the event was Cristiano Ronaldo. He threw his weight behind the player, insisting that the Brazilian should have won this year's Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo, who was also an award recipient described the winger as the "best" amongst his peers.

"Vinicius should've won the Ballon d'Or over Rodri - it was unfair," the former Real Madrid striker said on the podium receiving an award for himself.

Manchester City's Rodri won the Ballon d'Or for Men's Player of the Year which quickly attracted mixed reactions from football fans, especially from Spain. Real Madrid were dismayed at the decision not to name Vinicius for the award based on criteria that they condemned.

In the lead to the Globe Award, Vinicius was crowned FIFA Men's Player of the Year following his performance last season. Carlo Ancelotti received an award for Men's Coach of the Year following the club's successive outing in the Champions League and La Liga last year.
