Ruud van Nistelrooy Leaves Manchester United As New Manager Takes Over

Manchester United have parted ways with Rudd van Nistelrooy after four games, the club confirmed on Monday following Ruben Amorim's resumption to duty as the new manager of the Red  Devils.

Nistelrooy, though had a short stint, was unbeaten through all four games in all competitions. On his last game against Leicester in the Premier League, the defeated the rivals at Old Trafford for a back-to-back victory - United had eliminated Leicester from the EFL Carabao Cup on his debut game.

United said in a statement, "We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford."

Since Nistelrooy will not be part of Amorim's coaching crew, he left the club alongside goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar and analyst Pieter Morel. Nistelrooy was appointed as an assistant manager under former manager, Erik ten Hag whom he succeeded as an interim manager following his sacking by the club.

"We delivered a complete performance, and the result reflects our dominance," said outgoing interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy on his last game against Leicester.

"I'm proud of the players and staff for their efforts during my tenure. I'm confident that Ruben Amorim will take the club to unprecedented heights."

Amorim, 39, was appointed to replace Erik in a permanent deal from Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese contract takes effect from Monday and that will last until the summer of 2027 including an option for a year extension.
