Real Madrid Suffered Humbling Incapacitation Against AC Milan At Bernabéu

Real Madrid had a difficult night at home against AC Milan, lost humbly 3-0 to the Italian side in a comeback for their second Champions League game victory following a woeful start to the season.

Having regained winning ways defeating Club Brugge after back-to-back loss, Milan needed a point from the game to consolidate their chances of progressing to the next round. Real came handy even at Bernabeu and they seized the maximum points from the game.

Milan took the lead from a set piece with Malick Thiaw's header before Vinicius restored Real on level terms from a penalty drawn from Fikayo Tomori's tackle on him. Milan later regained lead from a rebound shot as Alvaro Morata finished off the loose ball saved into his path by Lunin.

After halftime Madrid goalkeeper was helpless as Rafael Leao feeds the ball through to Tijjani Reijnders (AC Milan), who picks up the pass and quickly sends it into the bottom left of the goal to keep the host behind at Bernabéu.

The loss plummeted Real's position in the Champions League standings despite being the defending champions. For Milan, that was a plausible victory securing that against reigning champions, which is the first time for the Italians against defending European champions.

Overview

It was not the best performance seen so far from Real Madrid in this campaign. Unlike the previous games, it was somewhat of an average performance even as Milan played impressively and were able to contain the pacey Real that is familiar.

The stark differences in striking between Real Madrid and AC Milan at Santiago Bernabéu in the UEFA Champions League League phase match. In spite of the fact that both team showed their great and skillful efforts but all efforts gathered without victory is somewhat a jack if all trades master of none for the case of the Spanish team at home.
