Premier League: Arsenal Winless Run Not Ceasing, Draw In London Derby At Chelsea

 

The London derby proved to be yet another bumpy road for Arsenal and shed points against Chelsea in 1-1 draw at Stanford Bridge as their Premier League title race continues to slowdown. 

Arsenal have remained winless through four successive Premier League games, dwindling their progression on the table. As often as they would have, they let the game slide after Gabriel Martinelli had set them on course. 

Martinelli latched onto the ball from Martin Odegaard's loose pass from inside the six-yard box and fired home the opening goal for Arsenal on the hour. Chelsea bounced back to be on level terms as Enzo Fernandez released a pass to Pedro Neto in front of the 18-yard box, and he smacked the ball through to beat David Raya to the goal. 

It ended to be an important draw for Chelsea as they leapt into the third place of the table, for their first top-four position since the closing of the 2021/2022 season. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are level on points (19pt) and are behind the table leaders, Liverpool by nine points. 

Overview 

Quite unpleasant for Arsenal to have drawn hence having to trail Chelsea on the table. The game was such that Arsenal could barely have rooms for their smooth exchange of passes, and when the pieces of moments arise to put the ball in the net, they missed. 

 Chelsea maintained their composure even when they trail and at some points charged forward to cause scare for Arsenal, who could have settled the game from Bukayo Saka's cross that narrowly missed Merino. Kai Havertz gave the game his best playing through head injury, still he could not get past the staunch defense of the Blues. 

Commendable outcomes for both sides with a significant contribution from Neto hence his goal. However, having to draw paid off for Chelsea and have moved up to third ahead of Arsenal.
