Max Verstappen Secures for Red Bull F1 Championship Title For Fourth Time In Las Vegas
With two races remaining to the end of the season, Max Verstappen can now take a sigh of relief and relax from all the tensions from the Formula One World Championship title race as he has now won it for the fourth time in a row at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Pole-setter, George Russell maintained control of the grid to win the final race in Las Vegas, but for a race that would determine the fate of the F1 Championship title, Verstappen needed to finish ahead of Lando Norris which he did in fifth and the McLaren driver finished behind him in sixth. For that reason, Verstappen earned enough point from the race to secure the trophy for the fourth consecutive time.
The season's fate was decided in Las Vegas, and since Dutch driver is now 63 points clear his nearest rival Norris, even if the Brit won the remaining two races, he can not match the lead., Vertsappen was declared the F1 world champion. However, the contest is over between McLaren and Red Bull racing team in the challenge for the F1 constructors title which McLaren currently leads by 24 points.
"Four time world champion!!! A season with a lot of challenges," Verstappen recalled his many ordeals with his Red Bull this season. "I am very proud of us. This would never have been possible without all the dedication and effort of everyone at @redbullracing."
Unlike previous seasons, Red Bull have had many difficult races this season amongst which was Verstappen six consecutive winless races. He snapped the drought in Spain and Canadan before gaining the needed points to stay ahead in Brazil where he improved from P17 to win the race. That was the performance that put him in the vantage point to win the trophy.
He added in his statements after the race: "To stand here as a four-time world champion is something I never thought possible so standing here relieved in a way but also proud. "
