Manchester United Considering Linking Up To Sporting's Youngster

Manchester United have spotted a young and agile player from Sporting CP for signing, reuniting him with Ruben Amorim, who assumed duty as the new manager of United last week.

Geovany Quenda, 17, is the new prospect that United are reportedly linked to despite having a massive release clause set at £60m. Having to sign the player might be necessary as he is a progeny of Amorim, whose debut was lower than he might have expected following a 1-1 against Ipswich Town on Sunday.

It is understood that United are keen on the player and might open negotiation for his transfer. However, as there are speculations of an impending transfer, there are also speculations that a deal might not be finalised for the winger until summer.

Quenda has often been likened to Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal and United are not alone in their interest in the player. Earlier in November, Arsenal were reportedly monitoring the youngster with the quest to sign him. Likewise, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked to having interest in the player.

Being a well-sought after player, Quenda is known for qualities that have attracted top-flight clubs. His pace and skill are amongst factors that have made him even more valuable besides considering his age.

Meanwhile, Quenda is not the only player that Amorim might potentially bring to United as the club struggles with performance even on his debut. Amad Dialo is another player of prominence in Sporting and significant to the club's league title success last season.
