Is Ruben Amorim Gradually Settling In At Manchester United?
Apparently, Ruben Amorim is beginning to settle in at Old Trafford after enduring a low key welcome on his debut playing 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Having won his first European game for the side against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, Amorim eventually can take a sigh of relief from the tensions faced as a newly-signed manager. Though, at the moment that United were behind Glimt, Amorim - as any newly-signed coach would - was anxious but the team lived up to his expectations by making a comeback through Rasmus Holjund's brace.
"I get anxious because I don't know what will happen," he admitted while speaking to TNT after the match. "We go to the game excited but at the same time you are nervous because you don't know how the fame will go."
For Holjund to have stepped up to the occasion was an improvement in the attack, considering that the forward has only scored once in the Premier League since the start to the season, It showed a new attitude from the player even as there were not much seen of him afterwards. The likes of Mason Mount and Lisandro Martinez, who were returning from injury spells also made significant impact.
Yet Alejandro Garnacho remained a prominent player, and for having scored the opener in the first minute, Amorim could not have asked for a better start to the game. As for the Amorim, it was not only that United deserved the victory but that it was a "special" win to him being someone barely known by the club fans.
Even at that, Amorim believed the game should have been easier if not that his boys "have had problems in the past giving ball" possession away too quick. If not, the game was supposed to be easier than his debut.
