Arsenal's Progress Faring Not Good, Not Bad In Champions League

 


The fixture between Sporting CP and Arsenal FC at the Estádio José Alvalade stadium in Portugal, marks the fifth round of the new Champions League in revamped structure comprising all 36 teams.

For a match played at Sporting’s home ground, it added an extra layer of intrigue to what is already shaping up to be a pivotal fixture in both teams’ Champions League campaigns. Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have shown tactical flexibility. However, the host team has won all their last five games in all competitions abd are 10th in the standings on level points with Arsenal, whose recent form has been a mixed bag.

Arteta now has more options to implement his preferred style of play, which emphasizes possession and quick, incisive attacks having one of the most solid defences in Europe with Saliba and Gabriel showcasing both their offensive prowess and defensive skills.
