Six Kings Slam: Jannik Sinner Making Waves Already As Top Stars Head To Saudi Arabia For Showdown

As the big showdown gets underway at the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia, Jannik Sinner is already off to an impressive start, taking down Daniil Medvedev in straight-set 6-0 6-3 in the quarterfinal, at the event which has no ATP  ranking points, but winning the trophy comes with a whooping price tag of more than £4million.

Jannik remained a substantial task yet unresolved for Medvedev after he lost to the world number one back-to-back within a week. Likewise at the US Open, the Italian player ousted Medvedev in the quarterfinal en route his second Grand Slam title haul of the season.

Medvedev did not stand a chance at all against Jannik, who claimed a clean sheet in the opener, with a break claimed at 4-0 he went on to claim the set. The Russian showed some resilient in the second set but the Italian saved a break at 4-3 and went on to claimed on matchpoint on Medvedev unforced forehand shot.

Carlos Alcarz was another player participating in the tournament and have progressed to the next round after he defeated Holger Rune in straight-set, 6-4 6-2. The Spaniard will proceed to meet his conpatriot and 22-time Grand Slam winner, Rafael Nadal in the semi-final while Jannik will take on Novak Djokovic.

Both Djokovic and Nadal were giving waivers into the semifinal and after their matches on Thursday, the winners will proceed to the final of the exhibition tournament on Saturday in Riyadh.
