Ruud van Nistelrooy Gets Perfect Start With Man. United But What Are His Chances Against Ruben Amorim

Could Ruud van Nistelrooy be the turnaround for Manchester United? That will be too early to say, though United put their new manager (interim) on a good start by thrashing Leicester City 5-2 in the EFL Carabao Cup game of round of 16. However, the club doesn't seem keen on Nistelrooy.

The former striker arguably is one of the best strikers to have ever played for the club, and for him to manage the same club, that might induce new attitudes and passion into the team. There seemed to be a bit of that on his debut having to see a brace coming from Casemiro. The Brazilian for sometimes now has been in a terrible shape, even blamed for the flaws that persisted under ousted manager, Erik ten Hag.

Bruno Fernandes also contributed a brace. The Portuguese appeared to have upped his composure - he recently bagged some cards needlessly for his tackles and frustration on the pitch. He was fairly a different player during the game and even intended to get a hat-trick but missed the scoring chance for that.

Alejandro Garnacho as always has been a prominent player in the team and there wass no change about that of him on the pitch during the game. He added in the second goal after Casemiro's stunning opening goal from the edge of the box.

United, however, yet conceded those two goals from a bit of flaws in the defense. If not for the first goal, but for Conor Coady. Though, Coady well-position for the ball from the free-kick, he was yet left unmarked amidst handful of defenders to score the second goal for Leicester.

As regarding Nistelrooy, speculations have it that United are set to announce a new manager for a permanent role and it does not seem as they are going to hire the Dutch man. Instead, United are believed to be in talks with Sporting Lisbon manager, Ruben Amorim.

Far from even discussing a deal, Sporting regarded Amorim's transfer as a deal, with the hope that he will be announced as Erik ten Hag's replacement on Thursday. The Portuguese club is asking for £4.15million to release the manager and also a compensation for the crew he wants to take with him.
