Morgan Roger was impactful for Villa but could not make something out of those chances. Watkins had been somewhat quiet through the game, and for United,Holjund could not find the space that would culminate in a strike to end the deadlock.
Fernandes came closest in the second half, he narrowly missed setting the side ahead from a set-piece that clipped the crossbar. He was fairly disciplined on his tackles through the game and avoided being issued cards needlessly.
