Premier League: Crystal Palace Host Liverpool to Embrace Victory

Liverpool got away with a deserved 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park to remain atop the Premier League table with three points clear nearest teams.

Diogo Jota delivered the lone goal that secured the game for the Reds, reached for a tap in of Cody Gakpo's cross from close. He later on had a couple of chances to double the lead but put the balls wide.

Eberechi Eze had the neatness chance to pull Palace back into game following a fast break as Mateta reached him for the penultimate, but struck the ball to draw a save from Vitezslav Jaros.

Liverpool have now extended their unbeaten run to six consecutive games (W6 L1). More so, it was Arne Slot's ninth unbeaten run through 10 games.

Overview

Great start from Liverpool, totally dominating much of the first half with Palace's midfield completely outclassed. Gakpo made great influence on the game, enabling the Reds to easily burrow their way into their opponents' box, with Jota and Gravenberch coming through the middle, Palace's defence were put to a great deal to work.

Good on Liverpool for not underestimating Palace's counter-attack capabilities with the likes of Nketiah, Eze and Sarr at the front. The added minutes scare from Sarr getting released from a through pass, got the right touch from the player with Nketial lurking for a rebound.

Although Crystal Palace are showing great team chemistry. They are passing it around beautifully. Excellent team work as they much launches dancing around the penalty area, but it only finds the head of an opposing player who clears the danger.

Liverpool kept showcasing great team work to keep possession and producing pin-point passes from player to player. The opposition's players are finding it very difficult to intercept at the moment.

Liverpool was great with the likes of the wonderful players; having Mohamed Salah, talented Alexander-Arnold having a skillful passes true into the box with clear composure from others giving Liverpool their feet as they enjoy some possession with great movement despite the Palace offensive players allows the defenders to set up the attack even with Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace) unable to feed an accurate cross into the box with a faint moment as Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace) pickup, but given a diverse interruption by Alisson.
