Lady Gaga Has This to Say About Joker: Folie à Deux

Unlike its predecessor, Joker: Folie à Deux did get that flamboyant grossing most of its fans would have expected on its opening weekend at the box office. It debuted the domestic market taking in a handful gross of $40million. Just as this might have thrown many cinemagoers off their balance.

It was like Joker 2 fans have a misgiven about the sequel, however, across board at the box office, that was was the best performing film, notching the no. 1 spot over the weekend. Nonetheless, for a film whose entry film was highly successful, anticipations was really high with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role. On top of that, Lady Gaga dropped her sixth album, Harlequin the weekend before the film premiered.

"I've been working in the film industry for the last 10 year or so," she told the People. "AndI feel so grateful for my fans. Also, I think I had a lot of trouble with it at some point."

As all that might have sounded disappointing, Gaga, recently, yet has something fair to say about her role in the film, which she recalled allowed her to add "pieces of herself" to portraying her character.

"When I first saw the film I was like, "Oh, that's in there! That part of me that I want no one to know about," she recalled speaking on a show, Good Morning America

As many might not have suspected in the fil., she also mentioned that Joaquin was using his "natural voice" and neither was she lip synching while performing in the film. Joaquin himself admitted to that during the interview.

She explained: "I can assure you that Joaquin using his natural voice e was so much more compelling than any lip synching would ever be."

In retrospect, Joker was a blockbuster at the box office on opening weekend, squanched records set by Venom and Justice League at the box office. Joaquin went on to win the best male for his role at the 2020 SAG Awards.

Though the film is having a slow start, it was not the worst weekend debut of DC films. However, it production cost was in the excess of $190m, having an opening gross of $40m might not really be satisfying.
