La Liga: Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal Shine As Barcelona Claim Massive Victory At Real Madrid

Real Madrid were completely humiliated in an El Clasico at Bernabeu that ended their 42 games unbeaten run in the La Liga in 4-0 defeat to Barcelona, in a second half showdown with Robert Lewandowski scoring a brace.

Barcelona's potent offense proved too much for Real Madrid despite missing their starting goalkeeper. Robert Lewandowski ignited the rout, striking twice within two minutes after halftime. The Polish ace's clinical finishes left Real Madrid reeling.

Lamine Yamal 17, etched his name in the record books as the youngest El Clasico goalscorer. He latched onto Raphinha's through pass and guided a right-footed shot from the centre of the box past Lunin. His stunning 77th-minute strike will be etched in memory. Raphinha later capped off an emphatic victory for the side, lobbing Martinez's cross-pitch lob over Lunin.

Besides the defeat snapping Real Madrid's unbeaten run through 42 league games, they are faced with a daunting task to reclaim their La Liga throne Having extended their table leaders by six points clear nearest rivals, Real Madrid, Barcelona's resounding victory established the fact that they're the team to beat this season.

Overview

Great game from the start, with multiple scoring chances for both sides and if there should have been any goal, Real was the side that should have from the first half. Mbappe lost most of his chances to being offside and Vinicius missed one of the nearest chances in the box to have set the side off ahead.

Lewandowski did not enjoy much space to cause a scare, and likewise Raphinha, but Yamal was  terrific from the earlier stage. Real were able to maintain their composure at the back and their pace and cross-pitch lobs effectively broke Barca's quest to keep possession and work out their moves with their passes.

Barca switched the game after halftime and completely took down Real's defense, playing wider and keeping their cross-pitch lob effective; it was a game more of the technicalities than of skills. Real did well earlier with similar techniques, but this time, they were in the trail and playing up the pitch loosened their defence against neat  finishes from their opponents.
