Femi Adebayo's Film "Jagun Jagun" Rakes In Nominations As AMAA Releases List For 2024 Ceremony
Nollywood powerhouse Femi Adebayo's critically acclaimed film "Jagun Jagun" has continued its award-winning streak, securing seven prestigious nominations at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
This latest achievement follows the film's impressive win of two awards at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) earlier this year. Adebayo's epic Yoruba movie, released in 2023, has captivated audiences and critics alike, solidifying its position as a landmark film in Nollywood.
"Jagun Jagun" has been nominated As Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Costume Design, Achievement in Production Design, Achievement in Makeup, Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language, Achievement in Visual Effects and National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) Award for Best Nigerian Film.
Femi Adebayo took to Instagram to express his excitement, saying: "Hey Guys, we've done it again!!! Delighted to announce JAGUN JAGUN clinched seven nominations at the 2024 AMAA AWARDS nominees announcement yesterday."
“Jagun Jagun" tells the gripping story of a warlord (Ogundiji) threatened by a young warrior's potential. Produced by Femi Adebayo and co-directed by Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Odunlade Adekola, Adebayo Salami, Dele Odule, Muyiwa Ademola, Fathia Balogun, Lateef Adedimeji, and Femi Adebayo himself.
With its AMAA nominations and previous AMVCA wins, "Jagun Jagun" cements its status as a cinematic masterpiece, showcasing Nollywood's growing influence on the global film landscape.
As "Jagun Jagun" vies for top honors at the 2024 AMAA Awards, its success serves as a testament to Femi Adebayo's vision, creativity, and dedication to showcasing Nigeria's rich cultural heritage.
