Europa League: Manchester United Held To Draw In Comeback By Fernerbahce

Manchester United's Europa League winless run continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw in a comeback by Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

Christian Eriksen's stunning first-half strike had United heading to a needed victory. The Danish midfielder's pinpoint finish into the top corner was on the side's first attempt at the goal.

However, Youssef En-Nesyri's powerful header early into the second half restored the hosts back into the game, and Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho's fiery personality was on full display.

The former Manchester United manager was sent to the stands for his vehement protests over a denied penalty claim, adding fuel to the already-intense atmosphere.the draw extended United's winless run to sixth in European competition.

Overview

United let the game slide after they had managed to hold off the Turkish side and Onana's double saves kept the side in good for much of the first half. Jose Mourinho's men had multiple chances to level from the early stage until Ne-Nasyril's header equalised.

Getting to have Mourinho out of the dugout for a red card offence, slowed the tenacity of his team and United's loanee to Fernerbahce, Sofyat Amrabat did well for the side at the back. Sadyi-Samuel was another prominent player during the game However, much of the second half was in United and almost made most of the former United manager out of the dugout.
