Champions League: Liverpool Claim Comforting Slim Victory At RB Leipzig

Liverpool have maintained unbeaten run through three games with 1-0 victory on the road to RB Leipzig and are second behind Aston Villa in the new UEFA Champions League group stage standings.

The Reds managed to have spells of ball possessions to control the game against the resident Germans. Apparently, it was somewhat physical game from the early stages, Liverpool yet found a succour from a rowdy moment in the Leipzig's box leading up to the winning goal from Darwin Nunez before half hour.

Mac Allister played a one-two with Tsimikas before sending a cross into the box. Salah headed the ball back across the face of goal for Nunez to arrive and tap the ball home from close range. Salah may feel he's been robbed of a goal, but Arne Slot won't care, the team is in the lead, anyway.

Leipzig nearly pulled one back for an equalizer but Kelleher was to the rescue. Dara latched onto a through pass and unleashing a strong shot at the goal, but his effort is denied by  Kelleher who was well -positioned for the save.

For the first time in Liverpool history, they have won 11 of their 12 opening games of the season. They have maintained unbeaten run in three games in the Champions league, and credit to Nunez's goal that came up barely a minute after the hosts had a goal ruled out.
