Cristiano Ronaldo Has Something Against Manchester United Manager, What Is Wrong Exactly?

 

Cristiano Ronaldo is not a stranger to Manchester United, in fact, he is a two-time signee to the club and had a trophy-ladden spell. However, he has something he does not fancy about the club manager, Erik ten Hag. Even though he once trained under him, there seemed to be something not just for him about Eril and he hope United will "rebuild" from the bottom up. 

The Portuguese spent his first spell at Old Trafford under former manager, Sir Alex Fergusson and was later resigned to the club under Erik after he had spent a long spell at Real Madrid, and later, a short spell in Italia Serie A with Juventus. 

Speaking to another former United player, Rio Ferdinand in a podcast, Ronaldo confessed his take on the club and criticised the manager for not keen to "compete to win" neither the Premier League nor the Champions League. 

"As Manchester United coach, you cannot say that you're not going to fight to win the league or Champions League," said Ronaldo. 

United is not an average European club either, rich in history and amongst top achievers in the continent. But, they have not been having it so good recently, and have started winless in two games in their start to the new season. And last season, they finished that really on unimpressive note in eighth position. 

He added: "They need to rebuild everything, in my opinion. The club needs time to rebuild because it's still one of the best clubs in the world, but they need to change." 

Ronaldo won his first Champions League trophy with United and his first Ballon d'Or as the player at the club. Before he was signed to Real Madrid, his career had taken off in good flight and he was already a winner of the Fifa best player of the year. 

The relationship between Ronaldo and Erik was not pleasant when he rejoined the club in 2021. He did not stay through the contract and left the club to join the Saudi Arabia side, Al Nassr.
