Champions League: Liverpool Get Good Head Start From AC Milan Defeat
Liverpool have got a good head start from AC Milan's costly loss to a comeback from the Reds to win by 3-1 in the Champions League opening game at San Siro stadium.
Milan, after the opening goal from Christian Pulisic's brilliant effort, became complacent, and Liverpool drew a free-kick deep in their halve, in a position good enough for Trent Alexander-Arnold to rightly locate Ibrahima Konate to turn the ball home with a header for the equaliser.
As they continued the dominance, it paid off with Tsimikas' cross that found Virgil van Dijk for a header and Liverpool led. The Reds later found the winner in the second half, with Gakpo breaking into box on the left and his cross found Dominik Szoboszlai for a tap in from close range.
Much of the game was in the control of Liverpool despite having to come from behind to win. The victory put the Reds in an advantage position from the start and extended their unbeaten run against any Italian side to five.
