Paris 2024: Nigeria's Chukwuma Qualifies For Women's 100-meter Semi-final

Rosemary Chukwuma, one of Nigeria’s representatives in the women’s 100 metres event at the ongoing Olympics in Paris has booked her spot in the semifinals of the event.

Chukwuma finished third in Heat 5 in a time of 11.26s behind Poland’s Ewa Swaboda(10.99s) and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith (11.01s).

Rosemary is among the three African women behind Marie Josee-Ta Lou (Ivory Coast) 10.87s and Gina Bass (Gambia) 11.01, who will aim to reach the final of the women’s 100m semi-finals on Saturday.

Unfortunately, Favour Ofili, the reigning Nigerian champion, did not feature in Friday’s race following her non-registration by the relevant authorities.

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) announced in Paris that it would not comment on athlete Favour Ofili’s registration status.
