German Manager Labbadia Becomes Nigeria's Super Eagles Head Coach

Former Stuttgart manager, Bruno Labbadia has been appointed as the new head coach of Nigeria's national football team, Super Eagles and his appointment is confirmed to be with immediate effect.

Bruno's appointment was confirmed in a statement by the NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, who confirmed the approval of the recommendation of the former Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen manager by the technical and development sub-committee of the NFF.

"The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia to become the Head Coach of Nigeria's Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles," the NFF wrote on social media platform X formerly known as Twitter.

Amidst the Super Eagles' sluggish performances in their qualifying matches for the AFCON 2025, former head coach George Finidi stepped down following calls for his dismissal after the Super Eagles played draw against Benin Republic. He was just two-month into the job.

Finidi's predecessor, Jose Peseiro led the country to the final of the 2023 AFCON Cup and finished as runners-up after losing the final to the host nation, Cote d'ivoire. Jose stepped from the role following the loss.
