Chelsea In Advance Talks On Transfer For Romelu Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku might have just found the exit from Chelsea as they have received a bid worth £25 million from Napoli for the striker.
It is understood that Chelsea are interested in a permanent contract for Lukaku, but his situation seemed to be one of a mixed bag as there are speculations that the bid is a loan offer with permanent contract option and there are speculatons that the bid is a permanent offer.
That being said. Just as Chelsea want to offload the striker, Napoli are also trying to offset a transfer for Victor Osimhen, who had indicated his desire to leave the club. Interestingly, the Nigerian striker has oftentimes been linked to Chelsea. However, talks between the clubs have not culminated in Osimhen going the other way.
Apparently, Chelsea did not appear to be getting their money's worth from the player they signed for nearly £100m in 2021. He has since been on loan moves; initially to Inter Milan and then to AS Roma where he reunited with Jose Mourinho. Osimhen is not a cheap player to sign either. In the midst of these situations, Chelsea did not get the good start they would have wanted from the 2024/25 season opening matchday against Manchester City - they lost 2-0.
The likes of Nicolas Jackson and Nino Madueke haven't delivered much goals to get Chelsea past enough games to be more competitive for the top-flight club that they are. Meanwhile, Lukaku while on loan to Roma had a succesive spell, scored 21 goals in all appearances.
