"This will be my last Euros," Ronaldo reveals

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed that Euro 2024 will be his last. He disclosed this after Portugal eliminated Slovenia on penalties in their last-16 clash on Monday night.

The 39-year-old had the chance to open the scoring in extra time, but saw his penalty saved by Jan Oblak, which led the Portugal forward Ronaldo broke down in tears after missing a penalty in the first period of extra-time in the goalless tie in Frankfurt.

“This will be my last Euro, of course,” Ronaldo told reporters. “But I’m not moved by this. I’m moved by enthusiasm.”

Penalties saved by Diogo Costa gave a heroics rescue Ronaldo as Portugal edge past Slovenia to victory.

Costa saved three Slovenia penalties to earn his side a 3-0 shoot-out victory after Cristiano Ronaldo redeemed himself from the spot in a dramatic Euro 2024 last 16 clash on Monday.
