Paris 2024: Spain Beat Dominican Republic In Thrilling Game
In an exciting match, Spain won their game against Dominical Republic in a comeback to claim 3-1 on Day 2 of the U23 tournament at the Paris Olympic Games.
The Dominicans were off to an impressive start but Spain took the lead from Fermin Lopez just before half hour of play. The scoresheet was later leveled for Dominican from Motes de Oca's effort, finishing of an assist from Azonna.
Spain retook the lead after the break as Aimaar Oroz's set off Alex Baena to put the side back ahead before Miguel Gutierrez extended their lead to 3-1 with a well-executed effort.
For much of the time, the Dominicans did have fairly good chances to have gotten more goals than they did. From the earlier stage they had come close to taking the lead. Spain came out stronger after halftime to dictate the game and that paid off for the side.
From the first group game, Spain won their opening match against Uzbekistan by 2-1. With two victories in the hand, Spain are in comfortable lead of their group to progress to the quarter-final.
