Paris 2024: Ibrahim Adel Scores Brace As Egypt Beat Spain To Top Group
As the group stage games come to a close, Egypt secured an important victory and won by 2-1 against Spain with Ibrahim Adel scoring twice to see the side through on Day 3 of Paris Olympics men's U23 tournament.
Egypt got ahead from Ibrahim Adel curly long-range shot that beat the Spaniard goalkeeper to the goal, and after halftime break, Adel once again was in a shooting range from inside the box, struck a right-footed shot down bottom left of the goal. Egypt now were two goals ahead.
Close to the end of the match Spain had their first goal scored from Samu Omorodion's header from the centre of the box from Sergio Camello's assist.
Despite Spain having the better of ball possession. Egypt maintained defensive approach to the game for much of the time and were able to make most of crucial moments against offensive Spain.
Egypt secured the victory to remain unbeaten through the group stage and have finished atop, overtaking Spain for the position in Group C. Both teams are now through to the quarterfinal.
