Paris 2024: Anna Henderson Wins Team GB Second Medal As Grace Brown Clinches Gold For Australia's First Medal In Women's Time Trial Cycling

Anna Henderson has added another medal to the Great Britain after clincling the silver medal for women'sIndividual Time Trial Cycling which American cyclist Chloe Dygert won brown and Australian Grace Brown won the gold medal for the country's first at the Paris Olympics.

It was not the favourable weather that cyclists would have expected in Paris. It was rainy and they were drenched. The surface which was slippery as a consequence of the weather was another challenge for participants and it did have impacts on a few, leading to them falling of their bicycles.

Brown, who is the 2022 Commenweath Games gold medallist for the same event, cycled neatly through the turns in a damp weather condition that marred the event and clinched the gold title in 39-38. This will be the 32-year-old first Olympic gold medal for the event after making her first appearance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where she finished fourth.

Meanwhile, the wet surface impacted on Dygert's chance as she fell off midway of her cycling. Having lost time from the incident, she narrowly missed making the silver medal position by just a second (1-31) behind Britain's Henderson. The medal won by Henderson will be Britain's second on opening day.
