Euro 2024: Teenage Player Lamine Yamal's Incredible Strike Leads Spain To Final
France are out of the Euros from 2-1 loss to Spain, who come from behind to score twice within a space of five minutes and are through to the final.
It was quite a brilliant start from France and Kylian Mbappe seized a fast break to deliver a rightly located lob for Kolo Muani to nod into the back of the net for the side to lead.
Teenage player, Lamine Yamal later curled home a 20-yard shot to level the scoresheet for Spain before a loose ball from a poor clearance landed on Dani Olmo's path and snashed the ball goal-bound for Jules Koundes to deflect into the net.
Mauni's goal was the second goal scored by France in the Championship. Besides the first goal scored from a penalty by Mbappe, their two previous goals were from own goals. On the contrast, Lamine at 16+ year old is now the youngest player ever to score at the Euros and any major tournament.
Overview
Spain rightly deserved the victory and credit to the youngster, Lamine Yamal for his contributions to the team and the spectacular equalizer that brought the side by into the game. Instead of defending their lead, France, for moments of loose defense, were punished by Spain.
It was disappointing that Mbappe's effort that facilitated that set the side ahead yet did not pay off with victory. For the first quarter, France dictated the game but the outlook of the game quickly changed from Lamine's 20-yard shot later followed by Olmo's winner.
