Chelsea Loanee Romelu Lukaku Nears Leaving Club
Chelsea are close to landing a permanent contract for their loanee, Romelu Lukaku as they are reportedly in talks with Napoli to secure his transfer.
Lukaku has for two seasons in a row been on loan spell and Chelsea are understood to be wary of keeping him on loan for yet another season. He had just spent a season-long loan spell at AS Roma where he moved to after spending a season loan spell at Inter Milan in 2022/23 season.
As Victor Osimhen desires to leave Napoli this summer, the club reportedly intend to replace him with Lukaku, and as revealed by Gianluza Di Marzio, the deal is expected to worth about £6 million annually for a period of three years. No deal has been completed yet but the player has shown interest in the move, already agreed on personal terms with the Italian side.
Joining Napoli will be a reunion for Lukaku and his former manager Antonio Conte as it is imminent for Osimhen to leave the club to join Paris St-Germain. Mind you, that Kylian Mbappe left the Ligue 1 club as a free agent at the close of last season. At this point, PSG are in need of replacing the Frenchman.
