Euro 2024: Niclas Fullkrug's Stoppage Time Goal Leads Germany To Top Group Standings, Draw Against Switzerland,
Germany have finished atop of their group and qualified for the last 16 of the UEFA Euro 2024, after 1-1 draw against Switzerland in a thrilling stoppage time goal from Niclas Fullkrug.
The Swiss moved ahead from Remo Freuler's cross that landed rightly for Dan Ndoye to finish off from close range, and as the Germans left it late into stoppages before leveling the scores, Raum's cross from a corner set up Fullkrug's header that beat Yann Sommer to the back of the net.
Switzerland have remained unbeaten against Germany in their four previous games, and with the outcome of the game, they have maintained the run in the last group game of the Euro 2024.
Having to force a draw was dramatic for the Germans as they climbed up the standings to reclaim the top spot of Group A and Switzerland have now finished in second place as Hubgary and Scotland are out of the competition.
Overview
The Swiss knew the least they would need from the game will be to draw. However, a win would have catapulted them to the top of the table and to ensnure that, they did great job in the attack and were discipline at the back, stopping the Germans from finding scoring chances until Fullkrug turned the tide for the German side.
