Champions League: Real Madrid Are The Champions For Fifteenth Time
Real Madrid are the champions of the UEFA Champions League for the 15th time after defeating Borrusia Dortmund 2-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium.
Borussia managed to hold the Spaniards to a goalless first half, lost chances that could have put them in the lead, but Toni Kroos found the moment to set Real off in the lead with a cross that rightly located Daniel Carvajal for a header that beat Gregor Kobel to the goal
Vinicius Jr later settled the victory for Real as he was left unmarked enough for Jude Bellingham's through pass to find him and the Brazilian striker neatly blasted home the ball down left corner of the goal.
The victory effectively was the fifth Champions League trophy that Real manager, Carlos Ancelotti has won with the club, and counting from his days as a player, it will be his seventh trophy in total.
Overview
Borussia initially had the game in the hands and could have made something out of the chances had in the first half but did not. Losing chances with a side like Real can prove costly and that was the case in the second half as the Spaniards picked up on the game and made away with the victory. The Germans played impressively and really deserved something but what it took for Real was connecting the ball in the right space and there you have it.
