Aston Villa's Teenage Midfielder Signs To Join Chelsea

Omari Kellyman is completely a Chelsea man following the announcement on Saturday of the signing of the teenage midfielder from Aston Villa in a deal worth up to £19 million.

The England-born player is a professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. He has represented both England and Northern Ireland at youth international level. Kellyman is a product of the Aston Villa and Derby County academies.

“It’s a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join… I want to be successful in the Chelsea shirt, win games, and hopefully lift trophies,” said Kellyman on his signing "It is fantastic to be standing here as a Chelsea player."

Kellyman has played six times for Villa’s first team since joining the Birmingham club’s youth academy from Derby County in 2022. He also represents England at the youth level.

Chelsea had a sluggish spell last season despite making the UEFA Europa League qualification for finishing in top six, it was not a pleasant run for the club. To that effect, the club former manager, Mauricio Pochettino was sacked after the season closed.
