Premier League: Michael Olise Scores Brace As C. Palace Claim Massive Victory Against Man. United

Michael Olise celebrates with Jean-Philippe Mateta after scoring the winning goal for crystal Palace against Manchester United

Crystal Palace claimed neat and humiliating 4-0 victory against Manchester United, which might have just forfeited the Red Devils' pursuit of qualification for a European competition next season.

The opening goal came in early from Michael Olise's individual effort, dribbling his way past United's defense before steering the ball past Andre Onana down bottom left corner of the goal. The second goal followed in the latter part of the first half as Jean-Philippe Mateta bolted with ball from Chris Richards' through pass and blasted a left-footed shot into the back of the net.

Palace extended the lead further after halftime as Tyrick Mitchell tapped home a loose ball from Dalot's stoppage of Wharton's cross. Olise later got his second goal with Muhoz setting him off with the ball on the edge of the box and he blasted home the fourth goal to seal the victory for the side.

United have never before conceded a back-to-back loss to Palace - their lost their previous game at Old Trafford to the side in September. United have now remained winless in 5-in-6 previous Premier League games.

Overview

It was not the best of start to the game from United, they had a difficult game on their hands and were at the mercy of their opponents for much of time. The midfield was loose for Palace to get past and the defence was a flop - not good enough to hold off their opponents from getting chances to score. Palace did capitalise on that shuddy United's defense and Mateta's goal did that just as Olise's first and second goal.

Palace brought their best into the game with the likes of Eberechi Eze and Oliseh, both players were really formidable at the front, burrowing through United's defence. Mason Mount could not give United the energy needed to get fired up and likewise Christian Eriksen. Kobbie Mainoo did try to make something up but could get past Palace well enough to loose the midfield up for United. Palace neatly deserved the victory.
