Outlook On Chelsea's Prospective New Manager

Chelsea are on the margin steep of managers, speaking about announcing Enzo Maresca as their new manager, and we take a deeper look at what you can expect from him and what he can do.

Mauricio Pochettino left Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2023/24 by mutual consent, as Chelsea hunt for another manager who can take them back to a side playing in the UEFA Champions League.

At the same time, Enzo Maresca was able to return relegated side, Leicester City to the Premier League job, after the Foxes won the EFL Championship. Having returned the side to the senior division, it is not just speculations on Chelsea have been given permission to speak to the Italian boss by Leicester City, so the announcement of his impending arrival.

Though Maresca was  Parma manager in 2021, but the following year he was made Pep Guardiola’s assistant manager at Manchester City where he has great success and won the treble. He has a distinguish style of play, similar to the one that Guardiola, which is heavy possession-style of football in the opponent's half.

Obviously, former Leicester boss will certainly continue with the style of play, as there are evidence that his tactics does work with the English top-flight clubs, and most of the top sides in Europe also play this way.

On Chelsea, at a time in past, they once did the same in time of Graham Potter, who had no experience managing some of the best players in the world which did not work out.

However, Maresca somewhat has experience of this during his time at Manchester City, although he was not the manager, he still was around world-class talents every day, so will have an idea on how to manage them.

Hopefully, Maresca will be permitted a bit longer time than previous managers, due to the club wanting to go for a project that can provide long-term success, with the talented young squad currently at Chelsea.

Now what do you think? will he perform that great in his first season?
