Monaco Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc Wins Race Amidst Chaotic Start

Charles Leclerc for the first time this season, won a Formula 1 Grand Prix, and that, he clinched on his home soil amidst a chaotic start to the race which was smeared with crashes in the streets of Monaco.

Driving in Monaco can be tricky for drivers especially when the surface is wet, but on this day, it was bright, dry, and sunny. Still, it is dramatic for the drivers as early as the first lap. Some drivers were able to keep clear of the incidents, and that, yet left the big names like Lewis Hamilton (P7), Fernando Alonso (P9) and Max Verstappen (P6) out of podium finish.

Unlike previous races, Red Bull duo did not stand a chance in this race. Instead, one of the pair, Sergio Perez was retired from the race following a crash with Kevin Magnussen on first lap. Max Verstappen could not make podium finish as Leclerc dominated the race to finish quickest.

Leclerc was closely chased by Oscar Piastri from the start and maintained the chase for the pole after Carlos Sainz pitted from a punctured tire which was followed by a safefty car from the ghastly crash involving Perez, Magnussen, Estaben Ocon and Nico Hukenberg.

Carlos was able to maintain his position in third after a safety car was called and finished in third. However, the chaos did not stop there as Lance Stroll later suffered a puncture and was pitted. The Aston Martin later finished in 14th position as Daniel Ricciardoand Valterri Bottas moved up to 12th and 13th respectively.

It was Leclerc first race victory of the season and his first in Monaco, Verstappen could not defend his victory from last season in Monaco and had been complaining about having issues with his car from the practice session.
