FA Cup: Manchester United Beat Man. City To Lift Trophy

Manchester United are the FA Cup winners and they did that by neatly defeating Manchester City 2-1 in the final at Wembley Stadium.

United quickly picked up the pace on getting ahead, scoring two goal in a space of nine minutes as Alejandro Garnacho finished off a flop header pass from Josko Gvardiol, and later on, Kobbie Mainoo tapped home a loose pass from Bruno Fernandes as the Red Devils led by two goal.

City, in the latter part of the second half, pulled one back as Jeremy Doku from an individual effort, smacked home the ball down bottom right to beat Andre Onana.

Though City missed out on winning the FA Cup, they are the Premier League champions for the fourth time in a row, extending Pep Guardiola title-streak at the club to ninth in all competitions. Likewise, the trophy will be United's 13th in the FA Cup.

Overview

It was of some sort a different United in the FA Cup  final. They really put up their best and played impressively well to have those goals even as City initially dominated the game.

United were able to keep their defense compacted and were energetic enough at the front to get past City's staunch defense with the likes of Kyle Walker and Nathan Akanji. City played well but initially didn't get their defense right and could not make the late comeback to equalise.
