Chelsea Offer Romelu Lukaku As Exchange in Transfer Deal in Pursuit of Victor Osimhen
Chelsea have reportedly opened an massive offer of €90m plus Romelu Lukaku for Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window as the need for the London-based club to bolster frontline becomes paramount.
Speaking with reports that one of the ways they are planning on doing this is by offering Lukaku in part-exchange, who was signed for €113 million in 2022 from Inter, is currently on loan at Roma but there have been questions about what he would want do in this summer.
The Belgium international has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League but turned down such a switch last summer as a top player. Lukaku’s record in Serie A, meanwhile, has been consistently strong and even this season he has a commendable goals.
Other suitors seeking the Nigeria international, including Manchester United and Arsenal, have cooled their interest for now and Napoli would allow him to do this with his manager but only if they are interested in him leaving.
Also, another club gaining interest in Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain which are currently in the Champions League semi-final. As it's apparent the Kylian Mbappe might leave for Real Madrid, finding the player's replacement is I'm important.
PSG have an abundance of cash to spend in the coming months as Kylian Mbappe is preparing to walk away from the Parc des Princes at the end of his contract, which will cut of his wages from sources.
However, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has not been afraid to splash the cash since leading on over £4.24billion takeover in May 2022, which ended Roman Abramovich's trophy-laden stewardship, and plans have been put in place to strengthen the forward line despite an upturn in fortunes in the final third of the pitch.
The Blues will have to walk quickly around the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules if they are to broker a deal for a player, who has a release clause worth €120 million. Chelsea have significant confidence of being able to sign the frontman nonetheless as their links to the Nigeria international have continued to root up since the winter transfer window was closed.
