Bayer Leverkusen Are Champions of German Bundesliga



Bayer Leverkusen are the champions of the German Bundesliga after finishing atop of the league with 90 points, ending Bayern Munich's 11-year run of trophy dominance, with historic unbeaten run through 34 matches. 

Leverkusen had already secured the trophy since April and completed the season run with their 28th win in 34 matches, defeating Augsburg 2-1 with Nigerian international, Victor Boniface scoring an early goal before Robert Andrich doubled the lead before half hour of play. 

Eleven-time champions, Bayern finished third  and lost the last game of the season to Hoffenheim by 4-2 in a comeback that saw Andrej Kramaric scoring a hat-trick - the second and third goals were scored with two minutes apart near the closing minutes. 

Bayern have not finished outside of the top-two since 2010-11. They will also miss playing in the UEFA Champions League final after losing the semi-final to Real Madrid on aggregate of 4-3. 

Leverkusen have never before won the Bundesliga title and they did maintaining unbeaten run through 51 matches which is the first time for any top flight European league.
