Kevin de Bruyne scores a brace in Manchester City's 4-2 win against Crystal Palace
Manchester City have restored their Premier League title defence hope with a defeated of Crystal Palace in a comeback by 4-2 at Selhurst Park, moving up to second place on equal points with table leaders, Liverpool.
Palace had first gone in the lead with a superb finish from Jean-Philippe Mateta in a fast break before Kevin de Bruyne leveled the scores, curling a sensational right-footed to beat Jordan Henderson to the top corner of the goal.
Jack Grealish facilitated the second goal for City, lifting a cross from the byline for Rico Lewis' header into the net and Erling Haaland added in the third finishing off a cut-back from Kevin. The Belgian captain later scored the fourth goal, blasting a low-cut shot from Rodri's pass to beat Henderson to the net.
As the game progressed into its latter stages, Palace found a consolation goal from Odsonne Edward, who despite being challenged finished off a counter from Jeffery Schlupp's cross.

Overview
Palace seemed up to cause a scare to City's title race from the start of the game that went through all Square in the first half. The game switch tempo from side to side and scoring chances were fair for both side as both Kevin and Ayew had their shots clipping the goal frame. Even Henderson forced a save of Haaland's shot.
City quickly switched up on Palace, took the lead two minutes upon their return from halftime break and the rest of the game was in their control. Great contributions from Bobb keeping the front fired up and at the back was Akanji keeping the defence in shape.
Kevin remained an integral part of Pep Guardiola winning instrument and the Belgian has continued to live up to expectations since his return from injury. He played significant role at ensuring Palace gave up resilience to see City through the game.
