Nigerian Artist Shrugs Off Interest In Burna Boy, Wizkid Amidst Struggling Career
To many music artistes, having to do a project with the likes of Burba Boy, Wizkid and Davido is a dream come true. However, a well-known Nigerian Afrobeat singer has shrugged that off. As for the artiste, he would rather prefer bearing the worst thing he ever could imagine such as the infamous torment of "hell" to doing a collaboration with the trio.
Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi also known as Brymo has spoken out on his opinion on criticisms that have trailed his career. From his political views to his controversial statement of demanding to have it with a female counterpart, the singer hasn't been one really out of controversies since his career began with Chocolate City.
While on an Instagram QnA Curiosity Made Me Ask, the singer blatantly dismissed having any interest in famous artists like Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid and didn't think they can help revamp his career.
"Don't worry, I just go to hell. They need recording deals," he told Adebayo who is the host of the session posted on the platform.
Of course, Brymo might not have meant the damning inferno propagated by religious sects. Anyhow, he's peculiar for being political and to hold controversial views.
Brymo's rise to fame began with his single, 'Ole Ku' featuring Ice Prince. Last year, there was a campaign against his nomination for Record of the Year of the 2023 AFRIMMA Award ceremony. The petition against him gathered over 450,000 signatures from his Nigerian fans. His disapproval was following his political stance ahead of the country's Presidential elections.
