Takeshiro Tomiyasu Gets New Contract With Arsenal
Arsenal have completed a new contract for Japan international, Takeshiro Tomiyasu, extedimg the player's contract until 2026 plus an option for extension after completion.
Takeshiro, 25, has only made 73 appearances for Arsenal since he was signed to the club from Bologna in 2021. He made is last appearance with the side in 2-1 loss to Fulham and scored his last goal for the side in 5-1 defeat of Sheffield United in October.
Though the player earned the praise of the club manager, Mikel Arteta upon signing a new contract, he has only made 20 appearances in all competitions this season. Arsenal are the Premier League leaders but on equal points (64) with Liverpool, who trailed in second position.
"I'm playing for Arsenal and this means I'm playing for Arsenal's supporters," said Takeshiro in his statement promising the club and fans of his dedication.
Prior to the new contract, the player had until next summer remaining in his contract. To the effect of the new deal, the player has now committed more seasons to staying with the side.
