Liverpool managed to share points with Manchester City in a 1-1 draw at Anfield, in such a match that was impactful on the fate of their Premier League title race.
John Stones put City ahead with a back heel flick to Kevin de Bruyne's cross and Mac Allister restored Liverpool back into the game from a spot-kick drawn by Darwin Nunez just after halftime break.
The game progressed to finished in a draw, dropping Liverpool from the table summit to second place. City dropped one place to third as Arsenal maintained the stansings top spot.
Overview
Sensational game through and through, and the outcome was just the best from such with both sides sharing spoils to trail Arsenal, who now top the League by just a point difference.
Liverpool came in for the offensive and avoided losing the ball to often to City, who intended to slow down the pace and work out chances to get the ball in. That approach did not work with the Reds even though they got ahead in the first hand.
Stones' goal from the set piece was well crafted out by the side, and if any sides should have won the game it should have been Liverpool, considering the couple of glaring chances Luis Diaz just could not convert. Good goalkeeper for Ortega for those saves.
