Arsenal have secured an important victory to take the Premier League table lead after defeating Brentford in a comeback to seal a 2-1 home win with a thrilling moment from Kai Havertz late into the game.
Declan Rice put the side ahead nodding home Ben White's cross from the right flank and Brentford equalised as Yoane Wissa deflected home Aaron Ramsdale's clearance and restored the side back into the game.
As the game neared stoppages, Havertz headed home another Ben White's cross and restored the lead to Arsenal as they progressed to win the game for their eighth successive win in the Premier League game.
With the maximum points earned from the victory, Arsenal now lead the table with 64 points, which is a point ahead nearest team, Liverpool. As it stands, Liverpool stand to reclaim the spot should they win against Manchester City on Sunday.
Overview
Lucky moment from Arsenal saw Brentford surprisingly climbing back into game after Arsenal had effectively controlled and led the first period of the game. Wissa, for much of the time, was silent and Ramsdale's delay on clearance gave away the equalizer to the Congolese striker.
Arsenal played well and dominated the first period, anyway. The build up to the opening goal was well orchestrated by Bukayo Saka and Ben White for Rice whose effort was delightfully taken.
Brentford really put great efforts into the game after halftime break, but this time, Ramsdale made great saves to keep out Collins and Toney's lob that could have given the visitors the lead. Besides that effort, Collins really did a great defending job to keep the side in the game.
Ben overlapping on the right flank proved effective, and once again, did worked out the delivery for Havertz's stunner after a meticulous one-two ball with Martin Odegaard. Neat combination of efforts in the build up and right attempt on the ball to beat Flekken to the goal for the winner.
