Oscars 2024: Oppenheimer Tops, Wins Best Picture, Director
With seven awards, Oppenheimer is the most Oscars winner on the 96th edition of the annual ceremony of the Academy Awards on Sunday night, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Oppenheimer won the most anticipated awards, best picture and best director with five others to lead this year's ceremony. Following the arm-race epic film is Poor Things with four Oscars amongst which were best actress and best costume.
Until this year's edition, Cillian Murphy had never before been nominated for an Oscar and now has won his first for his role in the biopic film. More so, he is the first Irish-born actor ever to win the best actor.
