Nigeria Appoints New Head Coach To Replace Jose Peseiro
Former Super Eagles winger, Finidi George has been announced as the new head coach of the Nigerian national team. He will succeed former head coach, Jose Peseiro who led the country to finish as runners-up at the just concluded 2023 AFCON Cup in Cote d'ivoire.
The appointment of Finidi was also confirmed via X formerly known as Twitter on a page of the national team and revealed that the newly-signed manager will lead the team to international friendlies against Mali and Ghana.
"Coach George Finidi has held a meeting with Super Eagles team officials as he leads the Super Eagles in international friendlies against Ghana and Mali," eeads a tweet by Super Eagles.
Finidi is a well-experienced former Nigerian international, who during his European spell, won the Champions League with Ajax alongside former Arsenal forward, Kanu Nwankwo in 1995. He also won AFCON Cup with the Super Eagles in 1994.
